Reopening of Ramova: The Ramova Theater will formally reopen this fall in Chicago’s Bridgeport neighborhood, at 3520 S. Halsted Road, as a reside music venue, craft brewery, beer backyard and grill.
The reopening has been a few years within the making, and builders and traders hope the venue will revitalize Bridgeport as a number one reside leisure vacation spot. Since starting operations in 1929, Ramova served because the Bridgeport neighborhood’s main movie show till it closed in 1985 after the ultimate displaying of…Police Academy 2.
Brooklyn’s Different Half Brewing has partnered with Ramova, and can brew recipes completely from Different Half Ramova’s brewery. The Ramova Grill — which initially closed in 2012 after working for 82 years in Bridgeport — will reopen as a 20-seat restaurant hooked up to the Different Half Ramova.
The theater earned a spot on the Nationwide Register of Historic Locations in 2021 after years of grassroots campaigning from neighborhood members.
Chef Grant Atatz Spot Roister, 951 W. Fulton Market, is internet hosting a Mijenta Tequila Dinner on Thursday, Nov. 2, a number of occasions, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
